Cement Buying Guide

How to buy bulk cement the smart way

What import-direct actually means, how pooling drops your minimum to one super sack, and how to send a quote request that gets an accurate number back fast.

The model

Import-direct pricing without importing a shipload.

Import-direct sourcing

We buy cement by the vessel from vetted overseas mills and bring it in through Gulf import terminals — cutting out the domestic middlemen a distributor stacks on top.

Pooling & splitting

Instead of forcing you to take a whole container or vessel, we pool demand and split shipments down to a single super sack, so you buy at landed-cost logic at any quantity.

Plan-ahead, price-locked

This is a forecasting model, not an emergency one. Lead time runs about three months order-to-delivery. In exchange you lock today's price and secure a reliable second source.

Type I vs Type II

Which cement do you actually need?

Type I is general-purpose Portland cement for everyday concrete where no special properties are required.

Type II caps tricalcium aluminate (C3A) and heat of hydration for moderate sulfate resistance — useful in soils, water, and larger pours.

Type I/II is manufactured to meet both sets of requirements at once, which is why it's the versatile default and our primary product.

How the spec is proven
The standards

ASTM C150 vs AASHTO M85.

ASTM C150 is the standard specification for Portland cement used across most private and commercial construction.

AASHTO M85 is the closely-aligned specification referenced by state DOTs for transportation and public works.

Our Type I/II is compliant with both the 2024 editions (C150-24 / M85-24), so it fits private jobs and DOT-referenced work alike.

Compliance is documented on the MTC that ships with every load.

Common questions

Straight answers.

What's the minimum order?
One super sack — roughly one ton (FIBC). That's the whole point of the model: import-direct pricing without importing a shipload.
How far ahead do I need to order?
Plan on about three months from order to delivery (import, clearance, and freight). We're built for buyers who forecast, not for caught-short emergencies.
Do I get documentation?
Yes. Every load ships with a mill test certificate (MTC) showing the material is ASTM C150-24 / AASHTO M85-24 compliant.
Can you be a second source?
That's a core use case. Many buyers use us to insulate against spot-market spikes and single-supplier risk with a locked, forecastable supply.
